Step 1:
Project Onboarding
- Introductory contact (text, email, or phone call) made by coordinator to welcome you to the Quality family and outline next steps. If you have questions or concerns, please call 281-955-3400 ext. 5000 or email [email protected].
- A Project Coordinator will be assigned to your installation to provide a single point of contact and to guide you through the installation.
Step 2:
Verification & Approvals
- Confirm your electric & gas providers. (These are usually confirmed in the home before signing paperwork)
- Review project for code compliance.
- Request approval from your electrical provider for the Automatic Transfer Switch, which allows us to safely disconnect and reconnect power on installation day. (This step can sometimes take up to 4-6 weeks).
- If ATTIC electrical/gas run is needed, tech visits home to confirm feasibility. (QHP will need someone over 18 home to let our technician in to look in the attic)
- Obtain HOA approval (if required).
- Share HOA approval with us.
Step 3A:
Permitted Projects
- Apply for all required permits once approvals are in place.
- Coordinate with financing if applicable.
- Notify you in advance of all scheduled steps.
Step 3B:
Non-Permitted Projects
- Move directly into scheduling process when NO permits needed.
- Contact gas provider for meter/pressure upgrades (if required; may take several weeks).
- Ensure an adult (18+) is present the day gas provider is scheduled.
Step 4:
Concrete Pad & Preparation
- Prepare pad/slab for generator.
- Schedule inspection before pouring (if required).
- Allow pad to cure (24-72 hrs).
- NextGen pad Please see Step 6.
- Allow concrete Team access to fenced or locked area for access to job site.
- Let us know if there is any livestock or pets to be aware of.
- If your project includes a poured concrete slab-or if you
- simply prefer one-please keep in mind that it may add a
- little extra time to your installation. This is because the city requires inspections for concrete work, and weather can occasionally cause delays. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way to make the process as smooth as possible.
- Client needs to move obstructions, plants, trees, etc. If applicable.
Step 5:
Pre-Installation
- Install 521 Compressor Saver scheduled with PurAir. PurAir prefers for someone over 18 to behome during installation.
- Confirm you understand power will be disconnected during install. (Please see step 6)
- Mark 811 Lines.
Step 6:
Installation Day
- NextGen pad installed if applicable to your generator installation.
- Licensed electrician and Licensed plumber will install the Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
- Backfill trenches (same day, if no permits required).
Step 7:
Inspections & Utility Coordination
- Coordinate city inspections (electrical + plumbing) for permitted projects.
- Return to fill trenches after all inspections are completed and PASSED by the city.
- Client may need to be home for city inspector visits.
- Client is responsible for contacting their gas provider to schedule meter or pressure upgrades if required. (Please note scheduling can take several weeks, and an adult must be present on the scheduled day)
- In specific municipalities -Rosenberg, Hedwig, Bunker Hill, Deer Park: final inspectionrequired after meter upgrade. Homeowner and electrician must be present.
- Ensure that gates are unlocked and pets are put away.
Step 8:
Notifications & Completion
- Send updates at each stage.
- Provide estimated completion date.
- Confirm project completion by call/email/text.
Step 9:
Final Client Checklist
- Gas provider upgrade completed (if required).
- All City inspections passed (if required).
- Generator operational test complete.
